Ornate Brewing Co. is a homebrewing based outfit in Manhattan, KS specializing in intricately designed beers and never-ending equipment upgrades.

Brew day tradition and today’s version could not be more perfect.

It might be a cold New Year’s Eve, but I’m still making beer. 2024 is less than 24 hours away and I feel like some good beer is gonna be a necessity this next year.

Im not sure if it was the hangover from last night or the early morning today, but this post-brewday campfire is pretty hard to beat. No wind, perfect temperature, and a good book is making tonight a pretty perfect ending to a long day.

Finally underway and mashed in!

It’s been far too long, but I was finally able to get the brewery fired up for a new batch. Todays project is an oatmeal stout with cinnamon and vanilla. Should be a pretty tasty cold weather beer and just in time for the weather to turn!

Matty Lite is on tap and tasting great! Boring ass beer, but a good one for mowing the lawn. 100% thirst quencher!

Brew day underway! Todays project is a schwarzbier to compliment Matty Lite that’s finishing up. Gotta have those crispy lagers for the hot Kansas weather!

Slowly but surely, we’re gonna reach terminal gravity. Not too bad for a new experiment and only 4 days! It’s funny watching the hydrometer… the active fermentation is slowly pushing the hydrometer up with the micro bubbles clinging to it. It’s gaining gravity!!

Just got to pitching temp and I can already tell it’s gonna be a crispy beer. Perfect for the hot weather heading towards Kansas!
